The Origin of CJB Collectibles and Toys
CJB Collectibles and Toys was created over various times in my life. It really started after Colin graduated from High School in the 90’s. I worked at Imaginarium for about 2 years. I enjoyed all of the old school toys like Legos and was actually joyful about helping children and toy enthusiasts find their favorite toy. I then got the opportunity to study abroad in London, England where I really got into Wallace and Gromit and Hardman Studios along with sports memorabilia that I collected from Arsenal FC when they were at Highbury.
After graduating from Cal in 1999, I went to Japan and started to collecting Doraemon, Hello Kitty, and Space Battleship Yamato toys and memorabilia some times from toys stores like Toys R Us in Japan along with smaller collectibles at Family Mart as well-a prominent convenience store in Japan. I also collected Sumo and sports memorabilia around the 2002 Korea Japan World Cup, the NPB Japanese baseball memorabilia.
When I got back to the States in the early 2000s I started buying Star Wars toys along with sports memorabilia off and on. Then I went on a hiatus from collecting and Toys in general until the Pandemic hit in 2020. I started selling old collectibles from England like Wallace and Gromit memorabilia, Japanese anime inspired items along with cultural items. After wining a large Darth Vader 2 foot doll at software company raffle game during Christmas, I kept the large doll for a long time until I sold it at my first Collectible show in 2021.
